This is one of those good feels Food Network type establishments. From the decor on the wall to the fella in the Dallas Cowboys straw cowboy hat, this place offers all authentic feels. I recommend the whole catfish every time. It’s clean hot and delicious.
This is my kind of place!! The gumbo is excellent...you won't find better! I saw the sign just off Exit 48 in Dallas, and crossed 3 lanes of traffic to get off and find my way back; it was worth it! I only wanted gumbo but got some hushpuppies to eat with the seafood gumbo. The gumbo had lots of shrimp, pieces of fish, and crab claw...it has an incredible flavor. My wife, who isn't a seafood person at all, got a chopped brisket sandwich. It was very good, the kind of BBQ that doesn't need sauce to give it flavor. She got onions rings with the brisket and I tried both. She says the onion rings are the best she has ever had. I tried them and they were also very good.
We were helped at the counter and served by Mick, a very nice lady who works there and was kind enough to take the photos. This ain't a white tablecloth kind of place, but if you want great seafood gumbo, served by really nice folks at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go. Tell them Joe sent you!
Mick and John hands down is one of the best spots for local eatery of seafood and more. Freshly cooked fish and the gumbo was amazing over a bed of rice
Wonderful local business! All the employees are super nice and their food selection is pretty amazing! I did the catfish and it was cooked perfectly! Fresh tasting and crispy. Very highly recommend!!!
