Shopping in the area and stopped in for a late lunch. It was delicious. I like the industrial vibe. This would be a good spot for large groups. We had the arancini appetizer to start. Yum! And the sausage pizza we decided to split. Great sausage pizza! You could taste the fennel and the grilled onions complemented it well. It was more than plenty. Appetizer and pizza came a little too close together though. We ordered ranch on the side, which was very herby and fresh tasting. I liked the marinara sauce also. Jade did a good job explaining items on the menu and specials for the week. When we’re in the area, id definitely come in again!

Pizza and food were good, it was a date night with me and my wife. She forgot her drivers license at the house and couldn’t have alcohol. Can’t remember the last time we were carded anywhere. But it put a little damper on things. So we ate and went elsewhere. But overall pizza was good.

Some of the fine pizza you can find in the Dallas Downtown area. They are making their own dough for breads and pizzas make we tried veggie pizza and Garlic knots, some drinks, but it was a little bit expensive for 2 people if you want to enjoy a full dinner, so if you are going with friends l, be careful about your budget, and music was loud, so you need to speak louder but, it is cozy place and be mindful of the parking, on The Weekends, it was hard to get the parking spots in their available parking so, you need park somewhere adjacent to the streets nearby.

Wonderful service, very cool location, had multiple mediocre dishes.
- Chicken meatballs. Why is this a thing? It tastes much worse and the chicken is not well suited/formed into an actual meatball. It fell apart into what looked like canned chicken shreds, but I assume it's not canned chicken....right guys? Please just do normal meatballs or at least offer the normal version. This is an easy slam dunk that was a hard miss for my entire groups.
- Pizza. Sourdough crust is pretty polarizing, maybe it would be cool to have a traditional crust? That being said the crust was the best part for me personally. I think the sauce could have used more blending. I got quite a few tomato skin/chunk pieces which doesn't belong on a pizza and is quite unpleasant. The worst offender here and why the place didn't get 5 stars for me is the sausage(?) used on the pizza. It's incredibly thick and is an awful textural clash with the crispy pizza dough. Please either grind this up and sear it in a pan/oven, or just don't do it. It's offensively bad and again was an enormous miss for my entire party.
- Drinks. They do canned drinks, and I assume charge per can. I really do not appreciate this and do not understand why they do this beyond money. It encouraged me to not get a second drink which would have made my pizza and dessert more enjoyable.
+ Awesome chocolate cake. Maybe offer this cold/cool like many other places do? Just a personal preference and not a right/wrong thing. Very good and home made whipped cream is a must for this.
+ Service. Wonderful bartender/waiter and manager.
+ Very unique and cool restaurant, but I wish they had more seating options with backs. I don't really want to sit at full attention at dinner.

UPDATE: The owner and corporate management saw my review and reached out to me about my experience. They were very apologetic and expressed that my experience was not okay and kindly requested me to give Pie Tap another try. I’m grateful and plan to eat there again and update my review after.
Writing this review as I just left.
First, the food is exceptional in its taste, this review is intended to reflect a likely fluke experience.
Just moved to the neighborhood and looked up nearby spots. Came across Pie Tap and saw the amazing reviews and came at 3:50 pm.
The place was virtually empty, just me and three others, during a weekday. Within 6 minutes I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and an aperol. The aperol came within a minute, but the sandwich came nearly 57 minutes later. I asked the server on a couple occasions if he could check on my order. He came back on the first ask and said the printer in the kitchen ran out of paper, so they never received the order. Yet, after asking him about my order he went to the computer screen and spent a couple minutes on it then rushed to the open kitchen….so I’m guessing he forgot. Even after putting it in late, I had to check on it twice more. It wasn’t until a manager finally asked me if I needed anything that I hangrily said “my food”.
For me, the reason I am compelled to write this review is that I sat in Pie Tap for 1.45 hrs, had two drinks, and a very delayed sandwich, and despite the entire staff recognizing they flubbed my order, didn’t even offer a discount. Would I go back, perhaps. But that was ridiculous. I worked in management at a restaurant for several years, and if you want to show your apology for creating bad service, you should comp or discount the check….not just repeatedly apologize for something that was well within your control.
This review is a reflection of my venting after being disregarded as a patron. Pie Tap, I’d advise you talk to your team about caring more.
