This was the hands down the best food/dining experience I’ve ever had. Every detail was perfectly curated by Chef Jimmy to give his guest the complete Omakase experience but with a modern twist. From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere, it was truly a special experience that you have to try!
Went for my birthday in October. It's a prix fixe/omakase style Place that requires reservations ahead of time. There are food add ons and cocktails that can also be chosen.
The presentation is amazing (see photos), the portions seem small but there are 12 of them so by the end of the meal it is very satisfying. The chefs provided interesting banter throughout the meal.
Will go back again some day.
Sometimes you go out to eat when you are hungry. Other times you go out to have an experience. This incredible place will satisfy both. The dollar in your walllet is immaterial compared to witnessing these masters in their craft. It is a full immersion into Japanese culture right here in Texas. Thank you for the unforgettable night! We will be back (if we can get another reservation)
I’m pretty disappointed after all the hype around Shoyo. For the price, I expected to be blown away. The 18-course omakase was decent at best. I’ve had the privilege of dining at some of the greatest restaurants around the world, and this is nothing noteworthy in the slightest. Namo, Tei-An, and Uchi make this place look like a day off and for a fraction of the price. The dining room was also below freezing. I was uncomfortable the whole dinner. The only positive thing about this experience was the staff were incredibly friendly and had wonderful humor while walking us through the dining experience.
A phenomenal culinary experience with incredible service. This was our second visit to SHOYO and each time it’s a new experience. We love the small intimate atmosphere and how each course is prepared with such great attention. Our chef, Jun, was thoughtful and friendly. Our server even made note that me and my husband were not drinking and gave us a non alcoholic shot to take at the end of the night- we really thought that was such a nice touch. We are so glad we elected to visit SHOYO, once again.
